What's Love Got To Do With It
I have been a working professional for almost three years now and one thing that being an ‘adult’ has highlighted to me is the lack of love within society today.
This video should act as a reminder that there is still love deep down in humanity. We can and should do more.
The lack of love being shown is not just paramount in the world but even more so in the church. The greatest display of emotion that the world has ever seen is love – God gave us His son to hang on the cross and die for our sins before we were even born.
Jesus gave us that ‘in spite of’, sacrificial love.
As followers of Christ, we have been called to a higher standard and to do what the world doesn’t. 1 Corinthians 13 stresses the importance of love and what love should look like. Showing love doesn’t require you to explicitly say ‘I love you’ to a stranger on the street (please be mindful of the age we are living in with increasing numbers of harassment complaints).
Intentional acts of kindness can often be the greatest demonstration of love a person may ever experience in a day.
Whether it be buying a homeless person a meal, warm clothing, essentials; saying thank you and God bless you to people that provide you with a service. In you showing love, you are being the light that Christ has called you to be - “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on a lamp stand so it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:15-16 TLV). Work on being the light and showing love. Purpose today to show love.
