Prayers For The World

Recently in the news, there has been a lot of different relevant and irrelevant stories, ranging from a missile crisis and refugee children to wax models of celebrities and who is marrying who. As we can see some should be more important than others but are they?.

Our focusses have been shifted from Godly things to earthly things, focusing on certain subjects in other peoples lives that we do not need to be concerned with and encouraging the wrong things.

There is no doubt that we are near the end times as tragedies continue to occur frequently all over the world and relations between each country continue to get worse, our own leaders, who have the responsibility of thousands of people which they fought for, continue to threaten each other in a race to show who is the strongest or the most powerful and people who also claim that they are Christians and serve God but want to take life and death in their own hands and act as God themselves. These people are meant to be setting a example for others but they are creating more hate , making this world a worse place to live in.

The following statement is from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, one of America’s most influential Christian organisations which also do not agree with certain decisions being made by their president (Donald Trump);

“Our government has the discretion in our laws to ensure that young children are not separated from their parents and exposed to irreparable harm and trauma,” the group said in a statement. “Families are the foundational element of our society and they must be able to stay together.”

“(Sessions) should study the Apostle Paul more closely. In Galatians 6, Paul instructs Christians: ‘So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith¹

'If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.'-Galatians 5:25

We can not say we serve the Lord and disobey what he has written, to walk in the spirit is to do what God has asked us to do, to share the Gospel and walk with him in the light, by allowing ourselves to these certain things we are allowing ourselves to move further away from Christ who is also the truth, and without the truth we become lost in this world.

Not everything we see in the news is bad or distracts us however as times are changing and situations are becoming worse our focus should be on the things that matter most and have an effect on everyone.

In 2011, 151,600 people die each day • 6,316 people die each hour • 105 people die each minute • Nearly two people die each second²

Everyday people are dying and the death rate has increased since 2011 and will continue to increase if the world goes on to act in the way it is now, this is why it is important that we pray for all the problems and bad reports that we hear, however, we should not wait for these life-changing things to happen before we begin to pray we should not rely on God only when we are going through our hard times but we should praise him in our highs and lows.

'And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.' - Mark 9:29
