Help & How to use Prayer Circle

👋 Getting started & accounts

Create an account, sign in, and switch between accounts on one device.

Create an account

1. Open the menu and tap Login.
2. Sign up with your email or mobile number.
3. Enter the one-time verification code sent to you.
4. Finish your profile — name, username, and a few details.

Sign in

1. Tap Login from the menu.
2. Enter your email or phone number and the verification code.

Use more than one account

Prayer Circle lets you keep several accounts on the same device and switch instantly.

• Open the menu and tap the account / switch-account control in the header.
• Pick another saved account to switch to it, or tap Add account to sign in with a new one.
• Each account keeps its own prayers, messages, and notifications.

🧭 Getting around

The bottom bar holds the main areas of the app.

• Prayers — your prayers and the community prayer feed.
• Feeds — posts and live streams from churches, ministries and organisations you follow.
• Bible — the full Bible reader with read-aloud, notes and more.
• Reels — short prayer videos to watch and create.
• The Helper — a Christian AI companion for prayer and scripture.

Open the side menu for everything else — Groups, Messages, Buddies, Notifications, Settings and more.

🙏 Prayers

Share prayer requests and praise, and pray for one another.

View & respond to prayers

1. Open the Prayers tab to see prayers shared with you.
2. Tap a prayer to open it in full and read its comments.
3. On any prayer use Prayed, Amen, or Comment to respond. Tap again to undo.

Create a prayer

1. On the Prayers tab tap the New Prayer (+) button.
2. Add a short title and choose a topic (e.g. Family, Health, Work, Finances, Church…).
3. Write your prayer as plain text, or switch to a background style for a designed card.
4. Optionally attach one or more photos.
5. Set who can see it (e.g. public, friends/buddies, group, or private), then tap Post.

Mark a prayer as answered

1. Open your own prayer.
2. Tap Mark as Answered and, if you like, add a short testimony of how it was answered.
3. The prayer now shows an Answered badge.

📣 Feeds

Follow churches and ministries, see their posts, and join live broadcasts.

Browse & follow

1. Open the Feeds tab to see feeds as cards. A red LIVE badge means a broadcast is happening now; SOON means one is about to start.
2. Tap a feed to open it, then tap Follow to keep up with its posts.
3. Use search to find feeds, or create your own from the Feeds tab.

Post to a feed

1. Open a feed you manage and tap New Post.
2. Add a title and message, and attach a photo, video, or paste a YouTube link.
3. Tap Post. Like and comment on other posts from their action buttons.

Watch a live broadcast

1. Tap a feed showing the LIVE badge to open the live viewer.
2. Watch the stream and join the live chat. A SOON feed opens a waiting screen until it starts.

👥 Groups

Private or public prayer communities with a shared chat and prayer wall.

Create a group

1. Open Groups and tap Create Group.
2. Choose its privacy: Private (invite only), Private (request to join), or Public (request to join).
3. Add a name, description, logo and cover image, then tap Create Group. You become the group admin.

Join & take part

• Find a group and tap Request to Join (admins approve requests).
• Inside a group you'll find the group chat, the prayer wall, and — when enabled — a live Prayer Room session shown with a “Live Now” badge.
• Admins can invite or remove members and edit the group. To leave, open the group's About screen and tap Exit Group.

💬 Messages & chat

Private one-to-one conversations with other members.

Start & send

1. Open Messages, or tap the chat icon on someone's profile, to start a conversation.
2. Send text, photos, voice notes, and videos from the input bar.
3. Share a prayer or a Bible verse straight into a chat, and react to messages with emoji.

Manage conversations

• Pin important conversations to keep them at the top.
• Unread chats show a count badge; the mail filter shows unread only.
• A green dot means the other person is online; a typing indicator shows when they're replying.

🤝 Buddies & Warriors

Find prayer partners and commit to interceding for others.

Prayer Buddies

1. Open Buddies and browse My Buddies, Suggested, or Find Buddies.
2. Open someone's profile and tap Add to send a buddy request; they accept or decline.
3. Once connected, tap the chat icon to pray together.

Prayer Warriors

• Open Warriors and choose the prayer categories you want to intercede for.
• You'll see prayers needing support — pray, say Amen, and leave encouragement.

⭕ Stories

Short, 24-hour updates that appear as a glowing ring around someone's avatar.

• Tap an avatar with a glowing ring to watch that person's story. Tap the right/left side to move between slides, and swipe down to close.
• A ring means there's an unseen story; it disappears once you've watched.
• To post your own, tap New Story, add photo, scripture, or prayer slides, then Publish. Stories disappear automatically after 24 hours.

🎬 Prayer Reels

Short prayer videos — watch a vertical feed or share your own.

Watch

1. Open the Reels tab and scroll vertically through prayer reels.
2. Pull down to refresh and load new reels.

Record & publish

1. Tap Create Prayer Reel and allow camera and microphone access.
2. Record with the red button, or import a clip from your gallery and trim it.
3. Add a title, message and category, then Publish. You can group related reels into a series.

📺 Sermons & live

Watch recorded sermons or join one live.

• Recorded: tap a sermon to open it, then play the video or audio. You can read along with referenced scripture and comment.
• Live: a sermon that's about to start opens a waiting room with a countdown; you move into the live player automatically when it begins.
• During a live sermon you can comment in real time and react. The recording is available afterwards for anyone who missed it.

📖 Bible reader

A full-featured Bible with multiple translations, read-aloud, notes and search.

Open & navigate

1. Open the Bible tab — it opens where you left off.
2. Tap the version selector to switch translation (ESV, KJV, NKJV, NLT, AMP, ASV, BSB, WEB, BBE, The Message). A translation downloads the first time you use it.
3. Tap the book / menu icon to choose a book, then a chapter.

Reading settings

• Text size and screen brightness sliders.
• Scroll mode (swipe up/down) or page mode (swipe left/right).
• Display modes: Verses only, Red-letter (words of Christ), Study (headers & cross-references), or Complete.
• Show/hide verse numbers, and a distraction-free Reading View.

Read aloud

1. Tap play to have the Bible read to you; the current verse highlights and the page auto-scrolls.
2. Use the controls to pause, skip verses, and change the speed. The screen stays awake while reading.

Notes, highlights & bookmarks

• Long-press a verse for the menu: bookmark, highlight (choose a colour), add a note, copy, or share.
• Find everything later under Bookmarks, Highlights and Notes in the menu.

Search & share

• Tap the search icon and type a word or phrase to find verses.
• Share a verse as text, or as a designed image card with a background of your choice.

🔗 Verse shortcuts

Type @ to link a Bible verse inside prayers, notes and chat. A suggestion list helps you complete it.

Examples

• @Genesis-3:4  or  @gn-3:4
• @2Kings-22:42  or  @2kgs-22:42
• @John-3:16-20  (a verse range)

Format: @Book-Chapter:Verse (add -Verse again for a range). Use the full book name or its abbreviation below.

✨ The Helper (AI)

A Christian AI companion for prayer, encouragement and scripture study.

1. Open The Helper from the menu.
2. Tap New Chat, or pick a starter like Ask for Prayer, Study Scripture, or Need Encouragement.
3. Choose a mode (e.g. Prayer & Comfort, Scripture Study, Encouragement) and type your message.
4. Your conversations are saved — rename, search, or delete them from the list.

🧠 GraceTime Bible quiz

Test and grow your Bible knowledge with an AI-powered quiz.

1. Open GraceTime and choose a quiz — by Old/New Testament, or a personalised quiz drawn from chapters you've recently read.
2. Answer the multiple-choice questions to get instant feedback and a final score.
3. Check the leaderboard to see how you compare.

🌍 Events, Journals & more

Extra spaces for community life and personal devotion.

• World — a global prayer feed; post a request or pray for others.
• Events — browse community events, RSVP, or create your own with date, time and location.
• How to Pray — devotional teaching and prayer guides to learn from.
• Journals & Dreams — private spaces to record prayers, reflections and revelations, with notes you can revisit.

⚙️ Settings & profile

Personalise the app and manage your account.

Settings

• Theme (light/dark) and language — English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Arabic.
• Default Bible version and Warrior preferences.
• Notifications for buddies, groups and feeds.
• Storage — see usage, clear the cache, and remove temporary files.
• About, Terms, Privacy Policy, and this Help page.
• Give feedback, request a feature, or report a bug.

Notifications

Open Notifications for a single inbox of activity. Use the filter chips (e.g. All / Prayers / Groups / Buddies) or search to find what you need. Tap a notification to jump to the related prayer, group or request.

Profile

Tap Edit Profile to update your photo, cover image, name, username, status/bio and home church. You can report content or users from the relevant menu if something isn't right.

🗑️ Deleting or deactivating your account

You can close your account yourself, from inside the app — you do not need to email anyone or wait for us.

Deactivate or delete — which one?

• Deactivate hides your account and gives you 30 days to change your mind. Sign back in and tap Cancel Deactivation at any point in those 30 days and everything comes back.
• Delete permanently closes the account for good. Your account and content are removed within 30 days and cannot be restored.

How to do it in the app

1. Open the side menu and tap Settings.
2. Scroll to the Others section and tap Deactivate Account.
3. Confirm at the prompt to open the Account Management screen.
4. To simply deactivate, leave Delete Account Permanently switched off.
   To close the account for good, switch Delete Account Permanently on.
5. If you switched it on, you can choose what — if anything — to leave behind under Data Retention Options:
   • Keep Profile for Community — your profile stays visible to the community, and you stop receiving notifications.
   • Keep Prayers Anonymously — your prayers stay in the community with your personal information removed.
   Leave both unticked to remove everything. You can pick one or the other, not both.
6. Tap the red Delete Account (or Deactivate Account) button at the bottom and confirm.

Prefer us to do it for you?

If you cannot get into the app — you have lost access to your phone number or email, for example — email us and we will close the account for you. Write from the address on the account if you can, and tell us your username:

You can also just email us if you prefer.

What happens to your data

Once a deletion completes, your account, prayers, comments and messages are removed from Prayer Circle within 30 days, apart from anything you explicitly chose to leave behind above. We keep only what we are legally required to keep — for example, records relating to a safety report. For anything else about your data, email privacy@prayercircle.co.uk.
